Anand (Salman Khan) is patient no. 36 at Sir Richard's mental sanitorium. Dr. Tanvi (Kareena Kapoor) has been geven the reponsibility to restore Anand's sanity to make him fit enought to re-enter the real world. While treating him, Dr. Tanvi discovers the real story behind Anand's tragic past and the reason which led him to loose his sanity. Maya (Rimu Sen) was the woman who Anand dearly loved and cherished, her death in afreak accident on the eve of their wedding led to Anand's insane state. Dr. Tanvi is successful in bringing back Anand to normally but in this process falls in love with him.
