Born in the lowliest of circumstances in the Flanders Prison, for which she was named. Moll Flanders is left in a convent, forced to grow up amidst the hypoctisy of nuns and a child-molesting priest in early 1700's London. She believes her life will finally improve when she is taken in by the matron of a charitable famil, Mrs. Mazzawatti. There the lovely young Moll learns the manners of lady-only to be duped by the jelous daugthers of the household.
