A story of a man who is madly in love with his sister-in-law. To get her attention and sympathy, he kills his wife making it look like an accident. The sister-in-law is trapped between her love and the duties of taking care of the late sister's child.

A story of two estranged families, Hulchul has the premier family of a small town, headed by fiery Angaarchand an influential landlord, pitted against the family headed by Lakshmidevi, a rich landlady of the neighbouring village.
