Ramji (R. Madhavan) is an excellent cook from a village in Bihar called Takipur. Forced to come to England to work as a chef inorder to pay for his sister's weddign, Ramji finds himself wondering aimlessly in the streets of London. To add to his difficulties, Ramji loses his passport and visa whilst traveling on the London underground. COmletely lost in the city, a minor incident soon gets him a job as a chef in an Indian restaurant. Even though his life seems to have taken a terrible down turn, Ramji with his rural charm, earthy wisdom and pure-as-gold heart manages to turn the tide and eventually comes up trumps.
